Holly Marie Combs Shuts Down ‘Charmed’ Reboot Rumors With Throwback Pics: ‘We Still Wish Them Well’

Sad news, Charmed fans.

After reports recently circulated that Shannen Doherty and Alyssa Milano were in talks to reprise the hit WB show, their co-star Holly Marie Combs shut it down.

“I’m sorry to say that all the reboot rumors are just that…. rumors,” Combs captioned a throwback shot with her Charmed sisters Milano and Rose McGowan. “But here’s #tbt to our wood nymph days. In our defense it was really hot so we wanted to wear the least amount of clothes possible. Really hot. That’s my story and still sticking to it. Still.”

Combs, 43, further nixed any reboot rumors with another throwback of her and Charmed co-star Brian Krause from Philadelphia Comic-Con in 2013.

“When they ask you about the Charmed reboot and the convo takes a super serious turn,” the actress wrote. “Look at BK thinking real hard and me buying him time for the perfectly phrased reply. Team work right thur I tell you.”

The star jokingly continued, referencing her Twitter statement to the original reports of a Charmed prequel series that surfaced earlier this year, “But we still wish them well. Cackle. Cackle. Cackle.”

The four actresses who played the mothers of Aria (Lucy Hale), Hanna (Ashley Benson), Emily (Shay Mitchell) and Spencer (Troian Bellisario), respectively, filmed their final scenes on Friday night (October 14) in Los Angeles.

“That’s a series wrap on my amazing work mama. You’re the coolest @thehmc #pllfinale,” Lucy wrote to Holly with the cutest pic ever on Instagram.

Troian added, “7 years ain’t enough. @lfera23.”

Ashley wrote with a pic of her and Laura, “That’s a wrap on my beautiful amazing mommy. I love you moms.”

After filming, Holly shared a slew of pics and a very touching message on her account: “And just like that 7 years flew by. And Ella is wrapped. Thank you @imarleneking for allowing Ella’s spirit, warmth and softness to be a part of me for so long. Thank you to the PLL crew for being so good natured and hardworking deep in the trenches through many dark nights and til many a dawn’s light. And thank you to the PLL fans for your undying dedication and support. Til we meet again.”

Holly has been confirmed to be a guest at the Australian Supanova, for Brisbane and Adelaide in November. Holly’s Charmed co-star Brian Krause, and Pretty Little LiarsLucy Hale have also been confirmed for the event.

Holly Marie Combs is an American actress who grew up in New York, and who started in front of the camera from an early age with print ads and commercials.

Her first onscreen credit was in 1988 with the film Sweet Hearts Dance, a rom-com starring Don Johnson and Susan Sarandon.

Holly had bit parts in several films before landing the starring role of Kimberly in the television series, Picket Fences. The show ran for 4 years, winning Holly critical acclaim and a Young Actors award.

Holly auditioned for the middle sister, and won the role of Piper Halliwell in the series, Charmed. She wound up producing the show from seasons 5 onwards, and is the only cast member to appear in the unaired pilot and every episode of the series.

In Holly’s latest role, she stars as Ella Montgomery (Aria and Mike’s mother) in the drama series, Pretty Little Liars.

Holly is an avid supporter of the conservation organisation Sea Shepherd and has been active in supporting their campaigns.

Holly looks forward to meeting all her fans in Brisbane and Adelaide in November 2016.
